Work Starts on Pavilion Improvements

There was a good turn out to start the work on improving the pavilion in time for the 2006 season. The foreman, Trevor Daws, was initially pre-occupied with shouting instructions to young footballers, leaving the Brownies and Cookies in charge of the demolition work. Bill 'Tea Break' Gibbon and Fat Cas sought to break Clouseau's heart by emptying out all the hot water from the boiler in preparation for moving it to the back corner. Smudger and Ian Russell assisted Paul Simmons in the removal of the rubble confining Cockinson and The Point to light duties taking down the wire from the fence. John Coyne tended to the foliage behind the pavilion as we waited for the real brawn to arrive in Tonker Wyatt and Herbie 'Hard Hat' Gosnell. The Chair also chipped in with a few hammer blows and pulled the first pints.
